Introduction:
Approximately 40,000 women died from breast cancer in 20161. Regular mammogram screening can decrease breast cancer mortality. Women are commonly informed of the benefits of mammography; however, there are also potential harms that should be considered. Healthcare providers need to be equipped to counsel women on both pros and cons of breast cancer screening so that patients may make informed decisions regarding screening options.
